FREE web access sessions launch in Sydenham and Hamp.
If you're not sure where to start with a computer, just need a bit of support or don’t have computer, internet or printer access at home have no fear Sedgemoor Digital Link has set-up two more FREE weekly sessions in Bridgwater. The new sessions will be held at Hamp Children’s Centre and Sydenham Children’s Centre.
The new sessions, which are open to all, will run at Hamp Children’s Centre, Rhode Lane, Bridgwater every Monday 09:30 to 11:30am from 15th September and at Sydenham Children’s Centre, Fairfax Road, Bridgwater every Friday 09:30 to 11:30am from 19th September. The new sessions will run in addition to the on-going drop-in at Victoria Park Community Centre, Victoria Park Drive, Bridgwater. These sessions are held every Tuesday between 9:30 and 11:30am.
As more and more services become 'digital', a basic knowledge of I.T is really important. This is a great opportunity to learn some new skills, or refresh some rusty ones, whilst knowing free support is on-hand to guide you. All equipment is provided, all you need to bring is yourself. There is no need to pre-book just drop-in during opening hours.
Sedgemoor Digital Link also runs sessions for residents of the Burnham and Highbridge area at Highbridge Children’s Centre on Coronation Road, Highbridge every Wednesday 1:00 to 03:00pm and Morland Hall, Pearce Drive, Highbridge every Thursday from 06:00 to 08:00pm.
All centres offer a safe and friendly environment to access the web for tasks such as job searching, applying and searching for training and apprenticeship opportunities, free printing, applying for Job Seekers Allowance online, online banking as well as emails.
We are also looking for volunteers to support these sessions. If you have good IT Skills and are able to offer a couple of hours help a week please contact Somerset You Can Do on 01278 664180
Sedgemoor Link Partners include:
Sedgemoor District Council; Homes in Sedgemoor; Department of Work and Pensions; Somerset You Can Do; Get Set Service (formerly known as Somerset County Council Children's Centre's) and Bridgwater and District Credit Union.
Sedgemoor District Council is being supported by EDF Energy on this project.
